Demons are often difficult to hunt and Demi Lovato certainly knows something about it. Just a few months ago, the singer celebrated six years of sobriety after a long struggle with drug and alcohol addictions. But anyone who has gone through the path of sobriety knows that it is never an easy path to take, and that it is more often than not fraught with pitfalls and relapses.
In her new song unveiled today, titled simply Sober, the artist is more vulnerable than ever in trusting about her relapse. Simple and powerful words on a completely shocking melody:
Momma, I’m so sorry, I’m not over
And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor
To the ones who never left me
We’ve been down this road before
I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore
The singer has opened up many times about her reality with a diagnosis of bipolarity, as well as her experiences with self-mutilation and eating disorders. His great honesty has always been beneficial to his many fans who certainly know these issues from near and far.
