WASHINGTOIN | US defense group Lockheed Martin and two of its affiliates won a $1.12 billion contract to produce F16 fighter jets for Bahrain, the Pentagon said on Friday.
This order, whose outlines had already been announced in November, covers sixteen F-16 Block 70 fighters.
They will be delivered on September 30, 2023, says the Pentagon.
The aircraft will be built in Greenville, South Carolina and Fort Worth, Texas.
The Kingdom of Bahrain should become one of the first countries in the Gulf to have these 5th generation hunters.
